Margaret Raphael (1948-2011)

My late mother Margaret was a brilliant writer and independent filmmaker in the late 1980's. I remember the day my mom first shared with me the completed script that she hand typed in her small garage / studio on Euclid Avenue in Elmira NY. "A Place Called Elmira" went from printed page to full scale production within months.  Over the course of Blind Faith Films history,  Margaret directed two films, both featuring the same group of heroes - the Street Corner Kids. Margaret believed that her independent film company could create a series of family friendly films featuring the same group of kids as the heroes, and believed in her vision so greatly that even without a distribution deal for the first two films, she wrote a third script 'The Legend of Crazy Eleanor" in 1994, that sadly was not able to be produced during her lifetime.

In honor of my mother's love for film and her legacy as a filmmaker, 2nd State Films will be releasing her works for the first time ever-as an Anniversary boxed set that will feature behind the scenes photos ,original posters and exclusive artifacts from the production of both films.

In another way to honor Margaret's legacy and vision, I have taken her third script and created a new series 'Elmira Race 2 Riches', which will continue her original characters and concepts in a creative way bringing them all back in a present day plot twist that will entertain audiences everywhere - check out Race 2 Riches!
